Patrol

Under the direction of Sheriff Richard Vernon, Nemaha County Law Enforcement manage many duties and responsibilities multiple duties for Nemaha County.  Deputies are on call around the clock to serve and protect the citizens of Nemaha County.

Deputies patrol all areas of Nemaha County which covers over 720 square miles.  Nemaha County is mostly rural areas along with the following towns:  Seneca, Sabetha, Centralia, Corning, Goff, Wetmore, Bern, Baileyville, St. Benedict, Kelly and Oneida.

All Deputies are certified through training at Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) in Hutchinson, KS or a similar Training Program from another state which has been approved by KLETC.  Upon completion of the initial 14 week training academy, each deputy is required to complete 40 hours of continuing education training each year to maintain his or her certification.
